Sacred Grounds Front of House Supervisor

Hours: 25-30 hours per week

Pay: £8.40 per hour


As Front of House supervisor you will be responsible for setting and maintaining standards for presentation & quality control for food and drinks, ensuring that the entire cafe space stays organised, clean and tidy at all times.

You will be responsible for upholding the ethos of Sacred Grounds and ensuring that the team adhere to our manifesto as outlined in our team handbook; maintaining a harmonious atmosphere and setting the standards for customer care, staff wellbeing and morale as well as maintaining a harmonious atmosphere by ensuring that customers are well looked after and feel respected and valued.  You will be responsible for managing customer complaints when needed, and documenting/reporting any incidents, accidents and complaints.

Other responsibilities include overseeing the diary and checking for upcoming events and bookings that need action, updating the daily diary in accordance to SFBB guidelines and ensuring that all staff members also adhere to these health and hygiene regulations.  You will be overseeing the training of new team members (especially relating to F.O.H and Barista training) through on-the-job training as well as checking certificates and organising additional training where needed.

You will act as a key point of communication between the barista/FOH team and management, gathering feedback from the barista/FOH team and communicating any issues so that we can work together to resolve them. You will also be giving team/individual feedback as and when needed.

Whilst on shift you will be the person responsible for the upkeep and management of the cafe, ensuring that any shared responsibilities are delegated where needed, and that the team completes each daily task effectively.

You will be trained in First Aid at Work, and Fire Management, responsible for ensuring that all new members of the team are aware of our policies and keeping the first aid kit in stock.

You will be responsible for sundry ordering as well as cashing up and weekly balance checking.

Sacred Grounds CHEF

Hours: Part Time 16-24 hours per week

Pay: £8.30 per hour


We’re looking for someone with experience in preparing food in a cafe environment to join our busy vegan cafe.

You’ll be involved in all areas of food preparation, including plating and final presentation of dishes. Knowledge of kitchen cleanliness, health & hygiene and the SFBB guidelines is essential.  Organisation is a key skill required to stay cool, calm and creative in our busy kitchen.

Ideally you’ll have knowledge of vegan food and enjoy working with ingredients in a creative way. Our small menu changes frequently creating a good learning environment. We are an open kitchen and are looking for someone with a calm and confident manner who will enjoy the steady pace and harmonious way that our team works.

This role will also involve working as a team player and helping out in all aspects of the days events - from taking customer orders, greeting customers, running food and helping with cleaning and loading/unloading of the dishwasher - we like to think of ourselves as a community and in a small space it’s essential that you have a sociable and friendly outlook to thrive in this role.

You will be required to work weekends.
